According to the statement of Rupert Stadler, the head of Audi Company, the sport Lamborghini crossover will be released by the end of 2016 and will be based on the new version of MLB platform that will also participate in Bentley’s coupe creation as well as in the production of next generations of Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7.
The destiny of Bentley SUV is almost decided. There’s a great chance that this car will be produced by the beginning of 2015-2016 at the Bratislava plant of the Company. The future of its British brother, the Lamborghini SUV was more unclear from the Urus’s concept debut that took place in Beijing. Fortunately the project will not be closed forever. Rupert Stadler himself, the head of Audi made a statement that the concept car will become a serial model. Well, it’s great news. Why? Just look at the pictures, you’ll be blown away by the look this car has. You don’t even need to like cars or know all the boring stuff about them to be impressed with Lamborghini SUV concept. It looks fantastic and everyone would be happy to drive something like that.
At the recent Lamborghini Press Conference Mr. Stadler said that this concept is destined to become a serial car that will appear at the end of 2016.
The Autocar magazine reporters also find out that the sport Lamborghini crossover will be built with the new version of MLB platform. The basis of the body will be made of steel and some of the panels will be made from extruded die-cast aluminum that will be attached to the chassis with glue and rivets. The same construction was used for the latest versions of Jaguar XJ and Range Rover. The new type of relatively inexpensive and easy to manufacture carbon fiber composite will also become one of the materials used for Lamborghini SUV’s creation. The Italian auto manufacturer has already experimented with this material and got some interesting results.
While we wait for the amazing Lamborghini SUV to appear there’s nothing we can do to speed up the process of its production so we might as well enjoy the pictures.
