Porsche 912 not considered black sheep of the family any more
Porsche 912 not considered black sheep of the family any more

Recently if you have not noted the price of the Porsche 911 vintages it has gone beyond the capability of mortal men to buy. However the increased value of the Porsche means that more people are now accepting the 912 as a Porsche family member. In a recently released video by Petrolicious the owner of a vintage 912 which has gone through slight modification talks about the coupe while it quickly measures the city streets and back roads of France.

The 912 was launched at the same time as the 911, the former regained the old 4-cylinder engine of 356 instead of the newer six cylinders. Though it helped to have the old engine in the 912 as it offered reduced price, but importantly tarnished the image of the coupe in the esteem of the fans. In the shadow of the more potent brother, the 912 along with 914 and 924 languished as black sheep of the Porsche family.

Julien Borne talking to Petrolicious told that after he had gone through two life-changing events in his life chose to get back an old Porsche 912 on the road and with the intent he bought a 1967 model and went on with the project of reviving it. He chose the abandoned country house of his parents to accomplish the task and went on to work on it. He further narrates that he went through hours of wrenching, welding and straightening out panels by beating them by his hands and finally came up with his gorgeous example of the Porsche 912.

We can say that the stigma attached to the 912 wearing off after watching the video posted on the website. You can also see the Petrolicous video and judge for yourself as a Porsche fan and we are sure that you won’t be complaining.
