In the rat race of increasing sales most auto companies try to sell as many vehicles as possible but Maserati thinks otherwise. Maserati of Italy parented by Fiat Chrysler has planned to put a cap on its vehicle sales once 75, 000 units are sold in a year so that the brands exclusivity is preserved.
According to the Italian car maker the company will achieve the 50, 000 mark in 2015 and it will hit the 75, 000 unit cap by 2018.
Maserati is in the process of increasing its dealer network to 500 outlets making it double so that it can sustain the demand for the new Ghibli sedan and the Quattroporte. The Ghibli according to Maserati is going to be the first market to address the mass-market and it will be pivotal in the company’s growth in the future.
The company by June 2014 is poised to overtake the 2013 sales of 15, 400 units and everything works to the plan, then the Maserati brand is likely to increase its sales to $8.2 billion by 2018 that is three times of the present. The forthcoming two new models from Maserati, a sports car and an SUV are likely to play an important role in bolstering the company’s sales.
