Supermini version of four-wheeler is introduced in the markets by the French car manufacturing company, Peugeot. In the period from 1972 and 1988 this particular car was available in the markets. In the time of launching the car was interestingly available in a fastback version. The body of the car was absolutely compact and had four doors. Separate trunk of the car makes it different from the regular hatchback models.
The saloon version was launched on 1972 and was followed by the production of coupes in 1974. Also as long as it was available in the markets consequent improvements are observed in the model.
The powertrain of the saloon was Douvrin engine of 954cc with overhead cam that were chain driven. The coupe has smaller chassis with rectangular shaped headlights and had the same 954cc engine present within the body. In 1976 this car experienced the first facelift of its time. Five door hatchback models were introduced that efficiently replaced the sedan. The entire packaging of the car was changed completely. Slight modifications were observed in the clusters of the rear lights. The car was powered by 1.1L engine. Modified camshaft was also available in this market. Again in 1978 the coupe was available as a cheaper variant. Further makeovers and changes in the appearance were observed in 1980, 1982 and 1983 onwards. In the 1982 version the power was gained in the car through two carburetors.
