The Daihatsu Leeza car debuted in December, 1986. It is designed on the basis of the Daihatsu Mira model and was focused on driving by his young girls. The model was issued with a body a hatchback and with open top, under the name Spider. In the first version were made 24, in the second - two modifications.
The suspension bracket of the car and its engine were basic from Mira, engine displacement made 0,54 l, with three cylinders and the only camshaft, the carburetor was with so-called "Venturi's nozzle" (an adjustable diffuser). Engine capacity made 32 h.p. and if the engine, depending on modification, was equipped by an intercooler and the turbine, capacity was and 50 h.p., and maximum - 64 h.p. Fuel consumption made 6,6 l on 100 km in a city mode.
The body of Daihatsu Leeza received the name semi-cycle shape, it differed rotundity of lines of the car. Because of appearance which also was combined with excellent functionality, the car was popular in the class. The quantity of places was determined by a formula "2Ñ…2" that was traditional for this class of cars.
